The Art Of Surrender
The Gnostic Way
Surrender~Oxford Dictionary;
‘Stop resisting to an enemy or opponent and submit to their authority’.
Wiki- To surrender in spirituality and religion means that a believer completely gives up his own will and subjects his thoughts, ideas, and deeds to the will and teachings of a higher power. It may also be contrasted with Submission. Surrender is willful acceptance and yielding to a dominating force and their will.
Neither of these definitions define the kind of conscious surrender I speak on here. When I am referring to the act of surrender, firstly I am referring to the inner process. The process of consciousness. Wholistically considering the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of the inner play. When one chooses to evolve consciously as a practice, the fun begins. This choice is as deep as the continued commitment with applied efforts. While an outward circumstance may stimulate the art of surrender, the gracefulness in which it is accepted correlates to the depth of practice. This is not necessarily referring to time, hours or years of practice, more so the level one has reached. Cultivated deeply while in an unobstructed mind- without the use of substance to induce a temporary openness. Surrender comes in stages and depth as with most. Its not an all or nothing process…a meme cant describe it- it is a complex and arduous journey of grace and determination. Patterns of thought, emotion and words are the three main creative aspects where we may learn our individual resistance to a surrendered life. When one pattern seems to have cleared, more will present themselves…and so it goes. The true surrender may come in small and well earned increments- sometimes as a energetic force that moves us so profoundly we have only but to surrender fully. To what or who you may ask. To yourself is the answer. Always to our own consciousness. As this is where our interaction with the universe is born, cultivated and experienced. Lets look at surrendering to thought. So we make a space or go somewhere outdoors to meditate. We make an offering, with gratitude, for the life and the body in which we dwell. First act of surrender. Sitting with spine straight, we begin to breath deeply without pause. Soon, thoughts and emotion will make their presence known. From what ‘comes up’ is from where we shall move. Move the energy…transmute the resistance back into the void. The cosmic recycle. We have three powers in which to do this for our emotional body- Gratitude, Forgiveness, Love. Feel WHAT you feel WITH one or all three of these three powers- and observe the clearing, this is not to say the same feeling or patterns will not surface again…it is more likely they will come greater, and with more force as we become more and more conscious. Surrender to the perfection of the evolution of consciousness that you have chosen. That each of us chooses individually. That each of us interweave collectively as a race of earthly inhabitants. When one inspired and dedicated soul moves a pattern (through transmutation) out of their own field, others are eased to do the same. Now lets look at a thought pattern…lets say a pattern of ‘not good enough’. See it feel it and forgive yourself and all others who have been resonating and/or co-creating the pattern with you and surrender to its release- in Love. Not a timid and meek little love, but pull from within the force of love that moves mountains, to bring perfection into being. expand the love in your field and hold it as long as possible to burn out the chalf. Repeat. This process is ever expanding..after we have cleared out enough of our own programs, we naturally move into ever increasing levels of sanctification- assisting others.
